Can’t dull her shine! Anfisa Nava is weeks away from appearing in her first bodybuilding competition and she’s already undergone a major physical transformation. The 90 Day Fiancé alum showed off her lean physique in a new video, and she also shut down cruel commenters in the process. A New Passion

Anfisa, 23, turned to bodybuilding after her husband Jorge Nava’s prison sentence and she’s proven to be very serious about her fitness goals. Back in December 2018, Anfisa opened up about how she was coping in a lengthy Instagram caption, noting how she and Jorge are “not just husband and wife,” but also best friends.

Overcoming Obstacles

The TLC alum explained how it truly felt like “a big part of [her] was taken away” when Jorge went to prison. Luckily, Anfisa found a healthy and rewarding way to “fill the void” in her life — bodybuilding.

When Preparation Meets Dedication

“ONE DAY I want to take it on a higher level and compete in NPC bikini division,” she wrote at the time. Now, Anfisa’s dreams are coming true, but not without hard work and dedication.

Exuding Confidence

Anfisa revealed that she is only nine weeks away from gracing the stage in an Instagram update posted on April 22. While discussing her progress, the former reality star also shut down body-shamers who have been throwing shade at her on social media.

Firing Back

“What are you doing? Why are these weird poses? Stop losing weight! Stop gaining muscle! You are looking like a man,” Anfisa began in her caption (video screenshot shown here), responding to all of the cruel comments and questions she’s received.

Gearing Up for Competition

Anfisa continued, “Addressing this one more time … as shocking and surprising as it may be for some of you, I’m going to compete in NPC (The National Physique Committee (NPC) is the largest amateur bodybuilding organization in the United States) in a bikini division!”

Gracing the Stage

The brunette beauty also revealed exactly what this entails. “I will be on stage with other girls wearing shiny bikinis, heels, having had their hair/make up/spray tan done and we will be judged based on our physiques, posing, overall look/presentation,” Anfisa wrote.

Final Touches

Anfisa said that she started dieting two weeks ago in order to lose some body fat before the competition, so her muscles will look even more defined for the event.

Making Strides

“This lean state will only be for the competition, it’s not sustainable the whole year round,” she explained. “I’ve been enjoying every second of this process (not just the prep, but the whole time since I started working with my coach @paulrevelia in November last year).”

Visible Changes

To conclude her message, Anfisa assured her fans that she’s very proud of what she has accomplished. “I feel great and loving my baby muscles and it’s amazing to see how my body have changed and what it’s capable of,” Anfisa wrote. You go, girl!

Breakfast for Champions

The former TLC alum recently dished on her meal plans while prepping for her big day. Anfisa revealed that she’s been eating scrambled eggs with veggies and an english muffin with peanut butter for breakfast.

Plenty of Protein

As far as lunch goes, Anfisa has been dining on salmon, lentils, barley and spinach. Talk about a powerhouse meal! For dinner, she eats chicken, sweet potatoes and broccoli. Anfisa often adds a dash of coconut aminos seasoning for flavor as well.

Hitting the Gym

Anfisa has been sharing some behind-the-scenes workout pics over the last few months, having posted an ab workout on her Instagram along with a photo of her doing bicep curls with a dumbbell.

Dealing With Haters

In March 2019, Anfisa took to Instagram with a heartfelt post about how she copes with the constant criticism and mean remarks online amid her fitness journey. “I would lie if I said negative comments don’t ever get to me,” she began. “They do.”

Stronger Than Ever

“I don’t want to pretend to be perfect and like I got my s–t together when I don’t,” Anfisa continued. “Maybe some of you are going through similar struggles and I just wanted to remind you (and myself) that it’s OK to not be OK.” Keep up the good work!
