Another year of fashion’s biggest night has arrived. Dozens of celebrities showed up and showed out for the 2024 Met Gala, which featured a floral-themed “Garden of Time” dress code, but a few notable names were missing from the iconic Metropolitan Museum of Art steps. Some skipped the event due to scheduling conflicts, while others had personal reasons for not attending.

Taylor Swift, for example, was rumored to be making her red carpet debut with boyfriend Travis Kelce at this year’s event. However, the A-List couple skipped the opportunity, likely due to her Eras tour schedule. Chrissy Teigen was another no-show for this year’s event.

Chrissy Teigen

Chrissy sparked concern from fans when she posted a photo of herself on her Instagram Story sporting a neck brace on May 6. The model claimed she was “at the Met” in the caption, but it turned out, she was just joking.

However, after several people expressed their worry about her, Chrissy clarified things in a follow up post.

“This is not why I’m not at the Met. I was never going to the Met this year. Please. I’m so stupid for having made this a thing. I’m sorry,” Chrissy wrote.

Chrissy hasn’t attended the Met Gala since 2017.

Unfortunately for Swifties, it seems Taylor’s Eras tour prep conflicted with her and Travis Kelce making their red carpet debut at this year’s Met Gala.

The Met Gala queen herself, Blake Lively, sat out the 2024 gala. Though, it’s unclear if it was a schedule conflict.

“I don’t even know who’s going this year. I’m definitely not attending this year because I’m filming, but I think I really do enjoy watching people’s creativity during the Met Gala and I am really excited to see how it will turn out. I actually have not read anything about who all is going this year,” she told Access Hollywood.
