On October 31, Teen Mom 2 alum Jenelle Evans revealed her plan to divorce her husband — and that she’d already left with the kids. But David Eason isn’t taking the news lying down. After reports emerged that his ex would fight for full custody if the case went to court, the former MTV star shaded his estranged wife, and now he’s sharing Instagram posts about spending time with his daughter Ensley. Check out the gallery below to see what David had to say and get the latest update on the stars’ split.
Though Jenelle, 27, and David, 31, have had a rocky relationship over the course of their marriage, the mom of three’s news about their split came as something of a surprise to fans.
In fact, the star later claimed that the incident actually brought them closer together. “Now that we are getting over this incident our relationship has got a lot stronger,” she said in July.

Doubt
Later that month, she was even denying that Nugget, her French bulldog, had been shot at all. According to the report from the Columbus County Sheriff’s office, Jenelle said she didn’t know what had happened.

Fake News
Contradicting earlier claims that she “did hear a gunshot but did not witness the incident,” she later told police that “she never heard or saw anything to indicate that David shot her dog.”

Confessing
Of course, that narrative was refuted by the fact that David later admitted he killed the pup. “I’m not going to pay anyone to euthanize my dog when I could do it myself,” he said.

Custody
Despite that, Jenelle stood by her man’s side as he fought for custody of his son, Kaden. Calling him a “loving father,” she accused his ex of being an “alcoholic, cheater, drug addict, scam artist and spouse abuser.”

Leaving
Now, it seems the star is changing her tune. “I want what’s best for my kids, and I want to be happy,” she wrote in a statement shared on Instagram. “I know I need to make changes … The kids and I have moved away from David.”

Parenting
“Nobody gets into a marriage expecting it to end, but I know that’s what is best for me and for my kids,” she continued. “Today, I’ve filed papers to start that process.”

Dad Life
Though David hasn’t shared his own statement about the potential divorce, he did follow Jenelle’s post up with one of his own, one that focused on him spending time with his daughters.

Quality Time
Sharing a photo of him, Ensley, Maryssa and Maryssa’s friend on Sunday, November 3, he captioned it, “We had so much fun last weekend! Maryssa wanted to get her ear cartilage pierced, but I couldn’t find a place in town to do it under 14 years old. New pair of Vans it is I guess. 😁”

Moving
The photo was from the weekend earlier, seemingly before Jenelle and Ensley left, but some thought the star was being shady by waiting to share the pic until after his daughter had moved out.

On His Own
In his next post, however, David appeared to acknowledge that the rural home where he lives is seemingly empty without Jenelle and her kids there with him.

Alone
“At least these guys know how to keep me company! I love my herd!” he captioned a photo of some of the animals the family started raising after they began their homesteading adventure.

Shade
What do you think? Was David shading his ex with the photo of Maryssa and Ensley? Or was it simply a coincidence that the toddler was in the photo of Maryssa at all?
