Leaning on Her Ex

This wasn’t the first time Gypsy met up with her ex in recent days, as she and Ken got matching husky tattoos on Monday, April 1, after having lunch together. The ink symbolizes their close bond, a source told TMZ. Ken’s mom, Raina Williams, told People that he’s been “a supportive friend” to Gypsy following her split from Ryan, whom she married in June 2022 while serving time for her involvement in mom Dee Dee Blanchard’s murder.

“They are not back together,” Raina confirmed. “They’re very cool. Ken is just being a supportive friend to her and that’s it. I think she’s a sweet girl. I think she’s made her mistakes and she’s trying to learn from them like anyone else. And I care a lot for Gypsy and I want to see good things happen for her.”

Old Flames

Gypsy and Ken certainly have their own history. The two first got together in 2017 after he watched HBO’s documentary on her case, Mommy Dead and Dearest, and decided to write to her in prison. They became pen pals, and he proposed to her during a visit to the prison in 2018.

Gypsy and Ken planned to exchange vows in January 2020, but they called off their engagement four months before the wedding. The former couple briefly reunited before calling it quits again. Now, it seems their friendship is back on.

Relying on Friends and Family

After Gypsy was released from prison in December 2023, she moved in with her now-estranged husband, Ryan, in his hometown of Lake Charles. However, since their split, Gypsy has been staying with dad Rod Blanchard and his wife, Kristy, at their home in Cut Off. Rod has been very supportive of his daughter after her split from her husband.

“She’s grown, and she was told what to do all her life. We wish she wouldn’t have, but like I told her, if it doesn’t work out, I’ll be there to help pick up the pieces,” he told People in December 2023.
