An insider tells In Touch that George Clooney is “freaking out” over his wife, Amal’s, pregnancy with twins — as she inches closer and closer to her June due date.

“He still can’t believe that in a few months he’s going to be the father of a boy and a girl. He’s freaking out,” an insider close to the parents-to-be tells In Touch, exclusively. “George’s paternal instincts have kicked into high gear. He’s constantly researching baby car seats and cribs and reading up on all things pregnancy.”

According to the insider, he’s not just spoiling his future son and daughter — but also his wife, 39!

“He’s taking care of Amal like never before. Anything she wants or needs, George tries to anticipate it. From getting her food — she’s been craving pasta and Cadbury Milk Chocolate bars — to feeding their dog to bending over and reaching for her laptop, George wants to do it all for Amal,” the insider gushes. “It’s really sweet.”

The Couple Got Pregnant Thanks to IVF.

The couple turned to IVF after failing to get pregnant this summer.

“They had been trying for a baby all summer and it just wasn’t happening, so they sought the help of a fertility doctor and started in vitro fertilization,” the source told In Touch.

The source added that it was particularly hard for the couple, because, “George has never had trouble doing anything is his life. Plus, Amal is afraid of needles, so her biggest fear was getting the hormone injections.”

George Is Already in Daddy Mode

Though George is known as a perpetual bachelor, he’s adapted to the idea of fatherhood rather quickly.

“He’s gone from never wanting to be a father to being totally excited about the pregnancy and the thought of raising two children who will call him Dad,” the source revealed. “He’s been doting on Amal’s every need and talking to her belly. He’s also having a blast coming up with baby names.”

They’re Choosing the Same Method for Godparents!

It’s up to George to pick a godfather for his babies, while Amal is picking a godmother.

“Amal will pick the godmothers,” said the source, adding that one godparent will "definitely" be her sister, Tala Alamuddin. "For godfathers, George’s choices are his longtime pal Richard Kind and his producing partner, Grant Heslov."

They’re Renovating the House

The parents-to-be are already making big changes to their house to prepare for their little ones — including a million-dollar nursery!

A source revealed that the little ones will take over a wing in their UK home, which will consist of "a nursery, a baby spa, a playroom, a children's library and a mini swimming pool,” adding, “They've also splurged on a changing table, a $10,000 Notte Fatata crib and a $19,000 armoire from one of the top baby boutiques in Beverly Hills.”
