Gia Giudice Breaks Down in Tears Over Dad Joe’s Absence in New ‘RHONJ’ Clip: ‘I Want My Father Here’
Being a teen isn’t easy, especially without your daddy by your side. Gia Giudice broke down over her father, Joe Giudice, missing some very important moments in her life due to his incarceration in a new sneak peek of season 10 of the Real Housewives of New Jersey Wednesday, November 6.
“I am going to prom, I’m going to graduation, I am going to college. Those are three big things I want my father here for,” the 18-year-old said in the clip. “Milestones,” added mom, Teresa Giudice.
“I understand we’re all hurting, but I’m saying it’s a big year for me and I’d want my father here,” Gia explained before Teresa, 47, went in to console her eldest daughter. Since filming, Joe, also 47, has been living in Italy and communicating with Gia over FaceTime and Instagram.
The Italian native flew overseas after serving his 41-month prison sentence for mail, wire and bankruptcy fraud and being held in ICE custody. As Joe is not an American born citizen, he was subjected to deportation after serving his time — he is living in Italy as he awaits a final verdict.
Hours after Joe was released from ICE custody, Gia took to Instagram to share the good news. “One of the happiest moments of my life,” she captioned a screengrab of her FaceTime conversation with her dad. Joe can be seen flashing a big smile and looking very healthy. “Love you so much daddy, so happy you’re free. See you so soon,” she added.
On another occasion, Gia shared a photo of Joe and his brother, Pete, with the caption, “So happy you are together right now,” adding, “Enjoy. See you in a few weeks, daddy.”
Teresa confirmed that she and her daughters will be traveling to Italy to visit Joe in November in an interview with Andy Cohen and Joe who joined via satellite. On “Joe and Teresa Unlocked,” the two theorized about the fate of their marriage if Joe isn’t allowed to return to America. “I don’t see it working,” the reality star admitted. “I don’t think that he would be faithful. I don’t. I think he would have someone there and have me here. I don’t want to live that life. I just don’t.” Although Joe’s decisions have greatly impacted his family, we are happy to know they will be able to share a hug soon.
