Stepping up! Britney Spears’ younger sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, “has been taking care” of their dad, Jamie Spears, amid his health issues, a source revealed to Us Weekly. “She and her husband, [Jamie Watson], have been helping Jamie as much as they can,” the insider confessed. “She’s a caretaker, even though she’s the youngest. They are a tight-knit family.”

The “Big Bad World” crooner certainly has her hands full with two kids — Maddie, 10, and Ivey, 11 months — and a music career, but the source noted that she has “put her own work aside” to help her dad through this tough time.

In January 2019, the 37-year-old singer revealed that her dad’s colon ruptured in a heartbreaking Instagram post. The blonde beauty also notified her fans that she would be putting her Las Vegas show on hold for now, so that she could be with her father. “I don’t even know where to start with this, because this is so tough for me to say. I will not be performing my new show, Domination. I’ve been looking forward to this show and seeing all of you this year, so doing this breaks my heart,” she wrote at the time. “However, it’s important to always put your family first … and that’s the decision I had to make.”

She continued, “A couple of months ago, my father was hospitalized and almost died. We’re all so grateful that he came out of it alive, but he still has a long road ahead of him. I had to make the difficult decision to put my full focus and energy on my family at this time. I hope you all can understand. More information on ticket refunds is available on britneyspears.com. I appreciate your prayers and support for my family during this time. Thank you and love you all … always.”

Multiple sources confirmed to In Touch that the “Stronger” crooner checked herself into a wellness center on Wednesday, April 3. “Britney was losing it. she’s not coping with the fact that her dad isn’t going to make it. She had a breakdown,” an insider exclusively told In Touch.

Since then, her boyfriend, Sam Asghari, her mother, Lynne Spears and Jamie Lynn posted on social media about how much they love and support Britney.

“Yup, she rode the bus home with me after my first day of school, cause she’s the f—king best. #WCW,” Jamie Lynn captioned an old school snap of herself with Britney while they both got off a yellow school bus.

Our thoughts go out to Brit and her family.
