Jana Duggar has channeled her talents as a home remodeler once again! This time, the eldest daughter of Jim Bob Duggar and Michelle Duggar used her skills to renovate her younger siblings’ playroom with help from brother Jason Duggar.

Jana took to YouTube on July 11, 2024, to share a video recap of the renovation process, including a look at the playroom before, during and after the project. She revealed that she wanted to surprise her parents while they were out of town for the weekend, so it needed to be done quickly.

However, Jana and Jason were able to achieve their goal, and the end result looks beautiful! At the end of the video, the Growing Up Duggar coauthor included photos and videos of her sisters and brothers enjoying their new setup, featuring a playhouse, a slide, a foosball table and more.

Jana Duggar Shows Off Kids Playroom Renovation

Before

Jana shared a glimpse at the playroom before the renovation. The space featured a wooden port with a built-in green slide, as well as several stacked chairs and a set of lockers. The Tontitown, Arkansas, native revealed that the playroom was also used as a school room, a guest room and a storage room.

‘Don’t Paint the House’

Jana shared that when her parents leave town for a trip, Jim Bob always warns her not to “paint the house” while they’re gone. However, he “agreed to us doing a bit of a facelift” to the playroom.

Kid Friendly

Jana said that it was a good time to give the playroom a refresh because “there have been more and more nieces and nephews added into the family” each year. The Duggar family tree has certainly grown quite a bit!

Out With the Old

Jana, Jason, brother James Duggar and sister Josie Duggar could be seen throughout the video as they worked on the big renovation. This included getting rid of the old staircase leading to the fort, removing the tunnel that once led to the boys’ room, a paint job and more.

In With the New

Jana traded in the fort for an actual playhouse filled with a play kitchenette and a dining area, as well as stairs leading to a loft space where the kids could use the green slide.

Family Time

The finished result was a gorgeous space for the entire family to enjoy! Outside of the playhouse, a couch and two chairs sat on either side of a gorgeous gray rug. Family portraits lined the wall over the sofa, making it the perfect cozy space for both older and younger members of the Duggar clan to gather.

Foosball Fun

The completed space even had a foosball table, which the kids already seem to be enjoying. “This space has been serving its purpose so well,” Jana said. “I am so pleased by how well everything came together. It was definitely a team effort. Many wonderful family memories will be made here for decades to come.”
