They may not have their kids, but they do have their chicks. While continuing their custody battle, Jenelle Evans and David Eason have continued their “#HomeSteading #FarmLife.” On Sunday, June 23, the mom of three posted a video of her husband at their home on The Land. While they were walking around, the former Teen Mom 2 star captured a clip of her husband surrounded by their chickens — and even two pet geese. Jenelle Evans Posts Video David Home Amid Custody Battle

Homestead Couple

The MTV stars started their little farm back in March 2019. Jenelle, 27, called herself “a new mom all over again” while introducing her followers to her chickens, which she revealed are Silkies, Buff Orpingtons and White Leghorns.

“You really starting a farm,” her costar Briana DeJesus commented on the Instagram post. “Told you, lol,” Jenelle joked back. The two have been friends for years and even filmed scenes together after Jenelle’s husband was kicked off the show.

Trouble at Home

Raising the chicks didn’t go too smoothly, though. In April, the mom of three faced some serious backlash when she revealed her dog had actually been attacking the birds.

Predator Protection

“I need a llama as a guardian for my #Homestead, 😓😫” she complained on Twitter. “Sooo many predators ALREADY.” Those predators apparently included one of the family pups.

Dog Drama

“Don’t get a pitbull if you plan on having a #Homestead cuzzzz he just wants our chicks really bad 🙄,” she continued. “But he was here first sooo.” Fans blamed Jenelle and her husband for not training their pet better.

Raised Right

“It’s all in how you train them. It’s not the dog’s fault, it’s you the owner for letting him do this,” wrote one commenter. “You should not own animals if you don’t know how to train them.”

Pet Problems

“We had free roam chickens on our place growing up and had multiple big dogs. Never had an issue? Maybe it’s you?” added another. But the MTV star wasn’t here for the hate.

Free-Range Troubles

“So I hear people are mad some of my chicks died from my dog,” she responded after dealing with the hate. “Well, they are free range chicks. We also had a hawk, snake and possum attack.”

Homestead Hurdles

“This is why I said I need a llama, but no matter what stuff like this happens when you have a #Homestead, 😓” she continued. Still, that wasn’t good enough for some fans, who continued to clap back.

Chick Power

“I have a homestead, have yet to lose a chicken. If they aren’t protected then shouldn’t be free range,” snapped someone in the replies. “As chicks, they need to be contained and protected since they can’t do so themselves,” added another.

Life on the Farm

Luckily, the animals seem to be doing better. On June 23, the star shared a video on her Instagram Story, revealing that plenty of the family’s pets are alive and well.

Checking In

“Chickens everywhere,” she captioned the clip as David could be seen in the background. “What do you think about getting some food?” he asked the birds on the land as Jenelle hung with two geese.

Losing Custody

Unfortunately, the chickens are the only ones Jenelle is playing mom to these days. Her son Kaiser was removed from the home by CPS in mid-May 2019, and he’s been staying with his dad, Nathan Griffith.

Empty Nest

Not long after, Ensley and Maryssa were also removed by CPS after a judge ordered that both Jenelle and David’s kids be taken from their custody because of the father’s dog killing incident.

Legal Battles

The couple has been trying to resolve their issues in court, but even more drama has followed. Jenelle and David claimed to have received a white powder in the mail and had a falling out with the star’s mom, Barbara Evans.

911 Reports

In early June, audio from a scary 911 call Jenelle made in December 2018 was released. Days later, the mom of three slammed her sister on social media. While all may be well with the farm, it seems that the MTV star still has plenty on her plate.
