Fans are slamming Jeremy Vuolo for putting daughter Felicity at risk when he took her out for a boat trip without any life jackets. The Counting On star shared a new photo with his little girl on Monday, July 6 — and while fans thought the picture was cute, that wasn’t what they were focused on. The comments on the post were filled with fans concerned for Lissy’s safety.

“Love the picture, but put on life jackets,” one fan wrote. “Just mentioning a child shouldn’t be boating without a life jacket,” added a second. “Absolutely love [you] guys, but in Australia it’s illegal for a child to be on a boat without a life jacket.” A third chimed in, “Completely irresponsible and illegal in some states for children. … Very dumb.”

Ouch. Then again, this isn’t the first time a member of the Duggar family has faced parent-shaming. Though the moms usually bear the brunt of the internet’s concern, Jeremy, 32, has dealt with dad-shaming in the past. When he and wife Jinger Vuolo (née Duggar) first welcomed their daughter, he caught flak from fans for exposing the baby to the blue light from his computer.

Blue light from electronics can affect humans’ sleep cycles and health — and fans were particularly worried about the effects it could have on a baby. When the soon-to-be father of two shared a shot of himself cuddling his newborn while they both stared at his computer screen, the parenting police were quick to correct him.

Thankfully, Felicity has grown up to seem pretty happy and healthy in the two years since. And Jeremy has definitely learned a lot about fatherhood, which will come in handy now that he and Jinger, 26, are expecting baby No. 2. After suffering a miscarriage in the fall, the couple announced in May that Felicity will soon have a little sister.

“We are so excited,” Jinger told People. “Everything looks great with the baby. We’re so thankful. Had a lot of check-ups and we’re just really, really excited.”

In July, she shared an update with fans, revealing the family of three is already halfway to becoming a family of four. “20 weeks down [and] 20 weeks to go until we meet the newest little addition to our family,” the expectant mama captioned a shot with her husband and daughter. “We cannot wait!” she told fans and friends.
