Jon Gosselin Posts Emotional Tribute to Late Father
Gone, but certainly never forgotten. Jon Gosselin is paying a sweet tribute to his late father on the anniversary of his passing.
“Today marks the 12 year anniversary since my father passed!!! Miss him every day,” Jon wrote next to an Instagram photo of his dad. “Please remember to take care of yourselves and try and be healthy!!!”
“I wish he could’ve been a part of my little kids lives, Mady and Cara were Poppy’s girls and they got to enjoy this amazing person,” he added. “Love you Dad!!!”
The reality star is father to eight, including 12-year-old sextuplets Aaden, Alexis, Collin, Hannah, Joel, and Leah, and has been in a long custody battle with ex-wife Kate Gosselin since they split in 2009 after 10 years together.
Most recently, the family has faced challenges with son Collin, who was placed in a program to help address his special needs, In Touch previously reported.
“Collin has special needs,” Kate revealed last year. “[There’s] a fairly fluid diagnosis of what those needs are, but he needs to learn certain strategies to help him deal with things. This has been a struggle we’ve had for a very long time, and it’s one I’ve dealt with on my own. I’ve felt very alone in this. By the same token, it’s not something that has only impacted me or him — our entire family has been impacted.”
Now, the pre-teen has made a quick, but noticeable, return to reality TV, making an appearance on the latest episode of Kate Plus 8.
The disagreements within the family, however, have continued. While the details of Collin’s new treatment program have remained hidden from the public, Jon has spoken out against the apparent secrecy.
The 39-year-old’s lawyer recently stated that he was “very upset by certain statements made to the press,” and remarked that “the whole story is not being told.”
