Kailyn Lowry Defends Being a Working Mom: ‘I Could Sit on My A– Until the Money Runs Out’

All reality stars get a lot of flack online.

But it seems like Kail gets more than most — whether it’s about her kids, her work, or anything else that Instagram and Twitter trolls can find to nitpick in her life.

She’s become something of a clap back queen.

In the past year alone, she’s had to slam her haters for comments about over how many kids she has, body shaming, her son’s long hair, and spending time with her children.

Recently, she found herself in a whole firestorm of hate.

When she opened up about the fact that her youngest, Lux, isn’t vaccinated, it unleashed a whole torrent of mommy shaming and discussions online. “The only thing I can really say and continue to stand for is to parent how it’s best for your child and family,” the mom-of-three said. “People don’t love everything I do but I don’t shove my beliefs down anyone else’s throat. I know what’s best for my kids and other parents know what’s best for theirs.”

But when Kail opened up about baby No. 4, the hate was real.

After having three sons, the Teen Mom star wants a girl for her next baby. But after sharing that on her Instagram, she got some serious push back from people in her comments.

They seemed to be concerned about her ability to juggle having kids and work.

Never mind the fact that she’s been doing it for years as she’s managed to raise her sons while filming a reality show, writing books, and hosting her own podcast. Recently, she also started her own hair products company called Pothead haircare.

The fan turned up in her Instagram comments.

Though the post has since been deleted, they seemed to criticize the mom focusing on her work and her money-making hustle in addition to her children, suggesting that, because she’s a reality star, she doesn’t have to work at all.

Kail, however, wasn’t having it.

Luckily, neither were some fans. “She’s graduated college, written books, multiple business ventures, successful podcast, no public assistance, and takes care of her kids,” shot back one. “What are you all so mad about? Lol.”

Kail spoke up for herself, too.

“But who would pass up an opportunity?” she wrote. “I could sit on my a– until the money runs out. But instead I used it to move forward. Damned if I do, damned if I don’t. Take your negative energy towards me and put it towards something you love!”

The star kept things positive — and civil — while still defending herself and her choices. And considering how successful she is and how happy and healthy her family seems, we think she’s made some pretty good ones.

That’s not the only drama in Kail’s life, though.

In January 2019, the star clashed with some of her MTV costars after Jenelle Evans‘ mom Barbara Evans joked on Instagram live that they should “go kill Kail.” In response, Kail told In Touch, “I want no association with any person or network that works with that family.”

The fact that the barb came from Barb seemed to make it worse.

“I have three kids to live for, just like Barbara herself. I’m disgusted it came from her,” the 26-year-old said. But she seemed to see where Jenelle gets it from. “I guess the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree … I won’t be filming until further notice, that’s for sure.”

Kail and Jenelle butted heads in December 2018, too.

Speaking of Pothead Haircare, Kail sent some to her costar as a “peace offering.” But instead of graciously accepting it or, you know, just throwing it away, Jenelle lit the whole thing on fire and watched it burn.

Jenelle had even more hate to throw her way.

“Been debating whether to upload this, but I feel like the time is appropriate,” the 27-year-old wrote in a lengthy caption on the Instagram video of the fire. “Kail Lowry, for years you’ve been super jealous and envious of all us girls on the show. You try to make your way into the group, then turn into a mean a— person when it came down to me. You apologize on/off, claim I need to be apologizing sometimes, then talk s–t constantly about me and my husband to the tabloids?! … This is what I do for gifts sent from fake a– b—hes like you.”

For her part, Kail didn’t respond.

Guess once that peace offering had been denied, there simply wasn’t much more to say on the subject. Kail did get some ~fire~ marketing out of it, though, and used the controversy to boost sales for her company.

As for baby No. 4, we’re sure Kail will get her girl when the time is right.

After all, she’s made it more than clear she knows how to handle everything in her life — and with any luck, having a daughter is something she’ll be able to tick off her to-do list some day soon.
