Not cool? Miley Cyrus‘ ex-girlfriend Kaitlynn Carter seemingly responded to the pop star’s new relationship with singer Cody Simpson, just one day after Miley basically confirmed they were “dating” via social media.

“THAT WAS WAY HARSH,” the 31-year-old captioned a photo of herself at the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic on Saturday, October 5. Even though the Hills: New Beginnings star was quoting a line from the 1995 film Clueless, fans took to the comments and speculated that the sentiment was directed at Kaitlynn’s ex.

“Seeing your girlfriend get a boyfriend … agreed,” one fan wrote, and another commented, “@kaitlynn what was “Harsh” the kiss? 😭.”

Kaitlynn’s post came just hours after Miley’s new beau shared a sweet PDA photo of them together on his Instagram. “Pre swim breakfast courtesy of baby,” Cody captioned the shot. In the picture, Miley wrapped her arm around his shoulders and she scrunched up her face as he planted a kiss on her temple.

Miley, 26, and Kaitlynn started dating shortly after Miley split from her husband of less than 1 year, Liam Hemsworth. The “Slide Away” singer was with Kaitlynn for a little over one month before In Touch confirmed their split on September 21.

“Miley’s fling with Kaitlynn was just what the doctor ordered after her breakup from Liam,” an insider told In Touch exclusively at the time. “Miley doesn’t burn bridges. They had a blast together and are going to remain friends.”

Just two weeks after her split from Kaitlynn, the Disney alum sparked dating rumors with Cody when they were spotted kissing while out on a date at Backyard Bowls in Los Angeles on Thursday, October 3.

The following day, Miley took to social media to address the dating rumors and she also defended herself from fans who felt she moved on too fast from her exes Liam and Kaitlynn.

“Men (especially successful ones) are RARELY slut-shamed. They move on from one beautiful young woman to the next MOST times without consequence. They are usually referenced as ‘legends,’ ‘heartthrobs,’ ‘G,’ ‘ladies man,’ etc. where women are called sluts/whores! I am trying to just THRIVE/survive in a ‘man’s’ world,” she wrote on Twitter. “If we can’t beat ’em, join ’em! If our president can ‘grab ’em by the p—y’ … can’t I just have a kiss and açaí bowl?”
