Kanye West’s Old Tweet About Bill Cosby Resurfaced and People Are Pissed
If Kanye West hadn’t fired manager Scooter Braun, Scooter would probably have banned him from social media. The rap star controversially tweeted about his love for Donald Trump on April 25, leading even family members such as Kylie Jenner and Khloé Kardashian to unfollow him. And now, in the wake of Bill Cosby‘s sexual assault conviction, Twitter users are remembering that Kanye once claimed Bill is innocent.
The Feb. 9, 2016, tweet — one of the many Kanye purged when he returned to Twitter — read, “BILL COSBY INNOCENT !!!!!!!!!!” And this week, people seem even more incensed about that tweet then they were then — since Bill Cosby was convicted on three counts of aggravated indecent assault.
The Kanye West tweet on Bill Cosby was awful then, even worse now. pic.twitter.com/JLwZxAO7Dx

.@kanyewest continued to defend the disregard of Black women by declaring on Twitter in 2016 that Bill Cosby, a man accused of raping over 50 women, was “innocent” without any other context. https://t.co/YCow5L9J1g

@TreyReeves_ also lumped those three men together. “Kanye West, Donald Trump, and Bill Cosby deserve each other,” tweeted @IrisRimon. And, “F–k Bill Cosby, f–k Kanye West, f–k Donald Trump.”
Kanye also caught a lot of flak back when he posted the Cosby tweet, including criticism from fellow celebrities.
Kanye!! You can’t be for real. FIFTY WOMEN. With nothing to gain thanks to a statute of limitations ON RAPE. Oy. https://t.co/3ekYD43uMs

Are we sure Kanye isn’t just a character from Zoolander?

There are easier ways to trend, Kanye.

But it seems the “Famous” rapper just loves to be provocative. As part of that longwinded April 25 rant, he wrote, “The mob can’t make me not love [Trump]. We are both dragon energy. He is my brother.” He also tweeted a photo of his “Make America Great Again Hat,” much to his followers’ ire. Even friend John Legend tried to get Kanye to think twice about his views. But like Kanye himself said during that rant, he can’t be managed.
