Kathy Griffin Isn’t Sorry Anymore for Posing With Beheaded Donald Trump
Well, that was quick. We guess it was only a matter of time before Kathy Griffin rescinded her apology for posing for a photo which showed President Donald Trump bloody and decapitated.
Though she said she was sorry back in May, the 56-year-old made it clear on Tuesday, Aug. 29, that she no longer felt remorse over the whole ordeal. In an interview with Australia's Sunrise, Kathy didn't hold back. "I'm no longer sorry," she said. "The whole outrage was B.S. The whole thing got so blown out of proportion."
The funny lady originally apologized after posing for the photo which many deemed inappropriate. She tweeted her apology, writing, “I am sorry. I went too far. I was wrong,” along with a video message expressing remorse.
“I’m a comic. I cross the line. I move the line, then I cross it. I went way too far. The image is too disturbing. I understand how it offends people. It wasn’t funny. I get it,” she said. “I beg your forgiveness. I went too far. I made a mistake and I was wrong.” The photo was shot by equally controversial photographer Tyler Shields, who's made it clear that he's not backing down or apologzing.

The President himself took to Twitter to express his disdain for the image, saying that his youngest child was having a particularly hard time with the incredibly gory image; TMZ reports that when the First Son saw the image on TV, he thought it was actually his father's head.

“Kathy Griffin should be ashamed of herself,” the commander-in-chief wrote. “My children, especially my 11-year-old son, Barron, are having a hard time with this. Sick!”

The general public — both fans of President Trump and not — rallied together to denounce the image. Trump’s oldest son, Donald Jr., called the image “shocking but not surprising,” while urging CNN to sever ties with the comedienne, who has hosted the network’s New Years specials with her friend, Anderson Cooper, in recent years.

Even Anderson expressed his disdain for his friend’s image, tweeting, “For the record, I am appalled by the photo shoot Kathy Griffin took part in. It is clearly disgusting and completely inappropriate.”
Former First Daughter — and noted Trump critic — Chelsea Clinton also expressed her disappointment in the image — which has since been removed from Tyler Shields' accounts — tweeting, “This is vile and wrong. It is never funny to joke about killing a president.”
