Liam Hemsworth was spotted surfing in Queensland, Australia, with his brother Chris Hemsworth on Tuesday, August 13 — three days after Miley Cyrus’ rep confirmed the two had split. One day earlier, Chris and Liam were seen in Bryon Bay, Australia, where they made a trip to the frozen yogurt store in town. Liam wore a hoodie with black pants and white shoes and looked sad.

The Hunger Games actor took to Instagram late on August 12 to confirm that he is now back on the market. “Hi, all,” he wrote at the time. “Just a quick note to say that Miley and I have recently separated, and I wish her nothing but health and happiness going forward. This is a private matter, and I have not made, no will I be making, any comments to any journalists or media outlets. Any reported quotes attributed to me are false. Peace and love.”

Meanwhile, the 26-year-old pop star seemingly opened up about her ex one day after the breakup announcement. “Don’t fight evolution because you will never win,” she captioned a photo of herself on top of a mountain in the Dolomites of Italy. “Like the mountain I am standing on top of, which was once underwater, connected with Africa, change is inevitable. The Dolomites were not created overnight, it was over millions of years that this magnificent beauty was formed.”

Fans became suspicious that Miley and Liam were no longer an item since they hadn’t been photographed together in quite some time. The blonde beauty has been on an Italian vacation with Brody Jenner’s ex Kaitlynn Carter, where the two were making out and canoodling.

On August 10, Miley’s rep confirmed the heartbreaking news and shocked fans all over the world. “Liam and Miley have agreed to separate at this time,” her rep told People. “Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers. They still remain dedicated parents to all of their animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart. Please respect their process and privacy.”
