Mike ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino Thanks Fans For ‘Unbelievable Outpouring Of Love’ After Entering Prison
The love is real! Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino’s wife Lauren posted a heartfelt message on behalf of him via Twitter, letting fans know how much they appreciate the ongoing support, shortly after the Jersey Shore star surrendered to the Otisville Federal Correctional Institution in New York.
“Hi Everyone, it’s Lauren,” she wrote on January 16, before giving an update about how he’s coping. “Mike would like to thank all of his fans worldwide for the unbelievable outpouring of love and support. We speak everyday and he’s doing great. He’s received thousands of letters, he won’t be able to respond to everyone but wanted to express his gratitude to each and every one of you.”

Mike’s college sweetheart, 34, concluded the thoughtful message, “Thank you from the both of us; it is truly heartwarming to have this support during this time. Lots of love, Michael and Lauren Sorrentino.” The Jersey Shore star, 36, officially began his 8-month prison sentence for tax fraud on January 15 and he provided contact information so fans could stay in touch.
The MTV alum pled guilty to one count of tax evasion last January and it looks like he’s doing his best to stay positive during his time behind bars. Just a few months ago, on November 1, he tied the knot with his longtime love, Lauren, at The Legacy Castle in Pompton Plains, New Jersey.
Despite the current circumstances, Mike’s wife Lauren is trying to look at the big picture and revealed she is staying optimistic. “If you have ever been through someone getting sober through recovery, if you come out on the other side of that successfully and in a positive way, anything is possible,” she told UsWeekly. “Like he said, a blip in the radar and not a concern for us.”
