Prince Harry’s trip to the U.K. was over in the blink of an eye. The Duke of Sussex was spotted heading back to California on Wednesday, February 7, after spending just 26 hours in his home country for a quick visit with King Charles III amid his father’s cancer diagnosis.

Harry, 39, was photographed at Heathrow Airport around 1:30 p.m. local time on Wednesday, getting ready to board British Airways flight 269 back to Los Angeles.

The duke arrived in London after a 10-hour flight on Tuesday, February 6, and spent 45 minutes visiting Charles, 75, whose cancer diagnosis was revealed on Monday, February 5.

Harry had a positive expression on his face as he awaited his flight back to Los Angeles. The Duke of Sussex looked casual in jeans, a light gray T-shirt and a blue blazer.

Quick Visit

Harry was spotted leaving Heathrow Airport on Tuesday and heading to Charles’ home in London, Clarence House, with a police escort. The visit marked the first time Harry and Charles have spent time together since the king’s coronation in May 2023. Harry’s wife, Meghan Markle, did not accompany him on the trip. She seemingly stayed behind in Los Angeles to care for their two kids, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

No William

Harry’s return to the U.K. did not include a visit to his brother, Prince William, whom the duke has been feuding with for years. Before his arrival in London, a source told People that Harry had “no plans” to get together with William, 41.

Eager to Meet

After learning of Harry’s plans to visit him, Charles reportedly had his helicopter waiting so that he could greet his youngest son personally. A source told The Sun that the king changed his travel plans “significantly” to see Harry.

Shocking Diagnosis

Buckingham Palace revealed on Monday that Charles was diagnosed with cancer during his hospitalization for prostate surgery in January.

“During The King’s recent hospital procedure for benign prostate enlargement, a separate issue of concern was noted. Subsequent diagnostic tests have identified a form of cancer,” the palace’s statement read. “His Majesty has today commenced a schedule of regular treatments, during which time he has been advised by doctors to postpone public-facing duties. Throughout this period, His Majesty will continue to undertake State business and official paperwork as usual.”

The statement added that Charles feels “wholly positive about his treatment and looks forward to returning to full public duty as soon as possible.”
