Jersey Shore’s Ronnie Ortiz-Magro Breaks His Silence After Alleged Domestic Violence Incident and Arrest
Just one day after Jersey Shore star Ronnie Ortiz-Magro‘s shocking arrest on kidnapping charges after an alleged domestic violence incident with his baby mama, Jen Harley, he is speaking out. Ronnie’s lawyer released a statement on the 33-year-old’s behalf on Saturday, October 5.
“The reporting of the alleged incident relating to Ronnie Magro this morning is based upon pure speculation and innuendo,” lawyer Scott E. Leemon said in a statement obtained by In Touch. “We are currently conducting our own investigation and will have no further comment until that has been concluded.”
As In Touch previously reported, officers responded to a call after an alleged altercation between Ronnie and Jen broke out early in the morning of Friday, October 4. “I can tell you that officers responded to a battery in progress in the 7200 block of Woodrow Wilson Drive at around 2:40 a.m. Suspect and victim were involved in some kind of physical altercation. When officers on location, the suspect was uncooperative. Officers had to use a taser so there was minor use of force that occurred,” LAPD told In Touch on October 4.
Ronnie was arrested on felony domestic violence but he was later charged with kidnapping. His bail was set for $100,000 and he posted it later that day. He was released from jail that afternoon.
The reality stars share a 17-month-old daughter together, Ariana Sky. Hours before the incident, Ronnie and Jen, 32, were spotted kissing and holding hands at the launch of Verge CBD in Los Angeles. Jen also celebrated National Boyfriend Day with new jewelry seemingly gifted to her by Ronnie. “For National Boyfriend Day, I got some new bling #nationalboyfriendday,” she captioned a video posted on Instagram on Thursday, October 3.
Ronnie and Jen have had a tumultuous relationship and they’ve been on-and-off ever since they started dating in July 2017. Their ups and downs were documented on the hit MTV reality TV series Jersey Shore: Family Vacation, but the couple seemed to have worked through their issues in recent months. Back in July 2019, Ronnie’s Jersey Shore costar Angelina Pivarnick told In Touch that Ron and Jen may have been thinking about taking their relationship to the next level with an engagement.
“Me and him haven’t really spoken about it. I know right now he’s excited and happy that they’re doing so well, and he’s really just living for his daughter and his daughter, oh my God, she’s so cute,” Angelina told In Touch exclusively. “I love that little baby. I think they’re in a really good place, and I’m really happy for them.”
