Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Steps Out With Daughters Ahead of First Mother’s Day Without Kim Porter

The New York native posed on the red carpet alongside his daughters — who wore white sequin dresses for the special event — while Diddy sported an all-black outfit with sunglasses and an arm sling.

The rapper also brought his mother, Janice Combs, and Chance’s mother, Sarah Chapman to the fancy affair. Diddy’s three daughters strutted their stuff on the runway inside the event. “Thank you to @leah_ladylike for an amazing day celebrating young ladies at her annual Women of Excellence brunch! We are so happy to be a part of such a wonderful event supporting our youth. #LadyLikeFoundation,” Sarah wrote on Instagram.

So Sad

On May 9, the dad of six couldn’t help but get choked up about the mother of his three children and how she wouldn’t be there to celebrate Mother’s Day this year. “Mother’s Day is going to hurt. We are definitely going to celebrate, you know, all the mothers,” he said in an interview with Essence magazine. “We’re not going to get in the way of that.”

Gone, But Not Forgotten

Kim died at just 47 years old from lobar pneumonia on November 15. The former flames dated for 13 years before they split in 2007, but they still had a strong connection. The duo shared their twin daughters plus son Christian, 21. He also helped raise Quincy, 27 — Kim’s son from a previous relationship.

His World Was Rocked

“It was definitely, a total shock and a surprise,” he revealed about her sudden passing. “It really, really, really woke me up … It’s the craziest, like, most traumatic thing I’ve ever … been through.”

Stepping Up

Since then, Diddy is trying to be the best parent for his kids. “I’m trying to step into my mommy/daddy role and also accept help,” he revealed. “I had to immediately tap into my feminine side and my protective side. The emotions are at such a level … I’ve never actually felt emotions like this. My heart was never open like this.”

Everything Happens for a Reason

Even though the former couple wasn’t together before she died, it seems like the Grammy winner realized everything was supposed to happen this way. “I don’t have no regrets how things went,” he confessed. “They went the way God wanted them to go, but I was playing with love. It’s not really to be played with. I definitely took for granted that she would be with me forever. I took for granted that something like this could happen.”
