Kourtney Kardashian Tried to Control Scott Disick, but Sofia Richie Gives Him “Freedom” (EXCLUSIVE)
He’s finally broken free. Though his relationship with Sofia Richie has raised eyebrows, Scott Disick couldn’t help but fall for the 19-year-old model who gave him something his ex Kourtney Kardashian never did — freedom.
“Kourtney and the Kardashians always tried to control Scott, unlike Sofia, who gives him the freedom he needs and lets him be himself,” an insider exclusively tells In Touch. “Scott feels that Sofia is the only person who understands him.”
Which is probably why the 34-year-old reality star — who shares kids Mason, 7, Penelope, 5, and Reign, 2, with Kourt, 38 — is already thinking about making Sofia his bride. “Scott says he’s dead serious about Sofia, that she’s here to stay, and is someone he’d like to start a family with,” a source shares with In Touch.
According to the insider, Scott and Sofia have even started discussing wedding plans. “They want to tie the knot abroad on a tropical beach with cocktails and champagne flowing during a wedding party that’s casual and super fun,” says the source. “But they want to keep their plans secret for now, because once they make an official announcement, all hell will break loose.”

Even though she’s dating 24-year-old Younes Bendjima, Kourtney thinks Sofia — Nicole Richie’s little sister and a longtime family friend of the Kardashians — is way too young for Scott. “Kourt feels betrayed by Sofia,” the insider explains. Kourtney also thinks it’s weird to think of Sofia “playing stepmom to their kids.”
Kourtney isn’t the only one who isn’t a fan of Scott and Sofia’s romance. The teen socialite’s father, music superstar Lionel Richie, recently admitted that he is not on board with his little girl dating the notorious cheater and drinker. “I am scared to death. Are you kidding me?” he admitted. A source also tells In Touch, “Lionel is unhappy about Sofia’s relationship with Scott. He thinks Scott’s a bad influence and too old to be dating his daughter.”
