Teyana Taylor and Iman Shumpert Reveal They’re Expecting Baby No. 2 in Sweet Music Video
Congratulations are in order for Teyana Taylor and Iman Shumpert! The longtime couple revealed they’re expecting baby No. 2 in Teyana’s music video for “Wake Up Love” released on Friday, June 12. The sweet clip shows their little girl, Iman Tayla Shumper Jr., kissing the pregnant mommy’s baby bump.
Iman Jr — affectionately nicknamed Junie by her parents — actually spilled the beans about the pregnancy a few weeks earlier while Teyana was doing an Instagram Live. From off camera, Junie could be heard trying to get her mom’s attention. When Teyana finally said, “yeah, girl?” Junie excitedly asked, “let me kiss that baby!” Teyana laughed it off like a pro, but fans had a feeling something was up.
“Teyana Taylor was tryna do a big reveal for her second pregnancy and baby Junie said ‘AHT AHT!'” a fan teased after the official announcement. Teyana shared the tweet and responded, “Bitch u hear meeeee!!!!????” with weary face and tears of joy emojis. “Mind you that was two days after we shot the video!!! Lmfao.”
Teyana and the NBA baller officially started dating in 2014, but Iman reveals he actually spent “a couple of years … trying to make some sort of sparks fly” after the first time he met her and asked her out after seeing her on the sidelines of a basketball game, he revealed in a 2018 video for VH1. Unfortunately, she had a boyfriend at the time, which only made him more into her because it proved she was “loyal.” The couple finally fell in love after Iman suffered and injury in 2014 and Teyana helped support him while he healed.
One year later, the duo welcomed their first child together, and the birthing experience was quite a doozy. On December 17, 2015, Teyana shared a photo of baby Junie in Iman’s arms and revealed they delivered the baby in their bathroom at home. “Not knowing I was in labor until I felt her head … it took two ten count pushes with my fiancé playing doctor and she entered this world into his bare hands,” Teyana revealed. “Eyes full of tears and barely able to speak to the emergency operator, [Iman] tied a pair of red headphones around the umbilical cord and the ambulance made their grand entrance 5 min later.” Luckily, Junie came out healthy and happy, and the parents couldn’t have been more proud. Hopefully, things go a little smoother this time around!
