TMOG’s Cheyenne Floyd Responds to Criticism She’s Not a Teen Mom

A New Chapter

Cheyenne, 26, was met with mixed reviews when it was revealed that she was the newest member of the Teen Mom OG family. The former Are You the One star joined the cast just two months after Bristol Palin confirmed she was set to appear in the reality series.

Big Reveal

MTV announced the news to fans in a sweet Instagram statement posted in September 2018. Cory also took to social media with a message of his own at the time.

Baby Joy

“Is the world ready to see me as a dad ?????? #TeenMomOG,” he tweeted. Cheyenne and Cory surprised fans everywhere when they announced they had welcomed a daughter together in December 2017 — Ryder was actually born in April 2017.

Little Princess

“I’ve been off of social media for a while now … for many reasons. Most importantly God has given me the biggest blessing in my life, my daughter Ryder K Wharton,” Cory wrote in his statement.

Working Together

The reality star dad also thanked Cheyenne and expressed how excited he was to coparent with her. She shared the same sentiments in her post.

Coparenting Goals

“Cory is nothing short of an amazing father,” she wrote. “We are so blessed to be raising mooch as coparents together and I couldn’t have asked for a better father for my princess. Our daughter is the best of both of us.”

Facing Backlash

Cheyenne did face some criticism when she joined the Teen Mom OG squad, since she wasn’t ~technically~ a teenager when she gave birth to her daughter. 

Learning Experience

Even so, she has no regrets about joining the cast. “I am happy to be a part of the TMOG family and congratulate the moms on their 10 years,” she tells In Touch exclusively.

Road to Motherhood

“It’s crazy that they have been telling their stories for 10 years and it’s a honor to have joined them,” the reality star added.

Clearing the Air

As far as the backlash goes, Cheyenne said “it’s annoying to keep saying the same thing over and over that I am know I am not a teen mom.”

Making a Difference

“I was 23 when I found out I was pregnant, in my eyes young,” the MTV alum continued. “When the opportunity came to be on the show I saw it as a chance to help others by telling my story.”

Moving On

Cheyenne and Cory are no longer together romantically, but they do their best to coparent their daughter together amicably. In recent months, both have gone public with their new romances.

New Romances

Cheyenne is happily dating her new boyfriend, Matt, and Cory is now dating his old flame-turned-new flame, Taylor Selfridge. She even joined him at his daughter Ryder’s second birthday bash.

Amicable Exes

Luckily, Cheyenne tells In Touch exclusively that there’s no drama between her and Cory’s girfriend. “Taylor and I have a respectful relationship,” she dished.
