‘VPR’ Alums Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright’s Relationship Timeline Amid Separation

2015

Jax and Brittany first crossed paths when they were both single and partying in Las Vegas. In 2019, the reality stars visited their meeting place alongside formerly married couple Katie Maloney and Tom Schwartz, and Brittany shared the exact place she and Jax met.

2016

Although they were only dating for a year, Bravo wanted some good ol’ Southern hospitality and offered Jax and Brittany a spinoff show. The duo were featured in Jax and Brittany: Take Kentucky, which premiered the following year.

2017

What goes up must come down? Right when it seemed like Brittany was the woman who changed Jax for the better, he cheated on her with Vanderpump Rules costar Faith Stowers.

The former Hooters waitress found out about her boyfriend’s infidelity during the season 6 premiere and after a tumultuous season, they called it quits.

However, the TV personalities couldn’t stay away from each other and gave their relationship another shot.

“It is hard, trust me, and there are still days, sometimes, when you can’t help but think of horrible things from the past. But for the most part, we’ve moved mountains in this relationship,” Brittany told Us Weekly. “I feel like we’re almost starting over, but we’ve grown so much. He does things before I even ask him now. Even just helping around the house. I can just tell in our everyday lives that he’s changed.”

2018

A beachside date turned into a proposal! The pair were filming the day that they got engaged in June. Jax asked for Brittany’s hand in marriage alongside a $70,000 3.14-carat diamond engagement ring.

“Designing Jax and Brittany’s ring was very exciting and emotional to me, because they are close friends of mine that I adore,” jeweler Kyle Chan told Bravo. “Making their ring was also a bit scary, because you absolutely want to make the perfect ring for people you care about.” Plus, he wanted to make sure that the sparkler was everything the bride-to-be dreamed of.

The couple announced Brittany’s pregnancy via Instagram as they posed next to a slip of sonogram photos of their son.

Then there were three!

“I don’t think I have ever been as happy as I am right now, everything else in life seems so insignificant now. I am crying just writing this message. I have the most beautiful son a man could ask for, he’s an absolute blessing from God,” wrote via Instagram in April. “I just want to say how absolutely amazing my wife has been through this whole process, it has not been an easy pregnancy for her, but she did an absolute[ly]amazing job all the way till the end. I have always been in awwh [sic] of Brittany but I fell in love with her all over again.”

2024

Brittany announced that she and Jax were separated during the February 29 episode of their joint “When Reality Hits” podcast. Although they weren’t living under the same roof, the family matriarch admitted that she believed “everything will be just fine.”

“Many of you guys have been asking me about Jax and I and our relationship. I just think it’s important to be real and honest with you guys because we’ve shared so much of our lives with you guys,” she began.” “On my last podcast I alluded to many marriages go through rocky times. Yes, marriages in general are very hard and I’ve had a particularly rough year this past year. Jax and I are taking time apart and I made the decision to move into another home to take some space for the sake of my mental health.”
