Jaclyn Hill and Kathleen Lights Defend Themselves Amid “N-Word” Controversy
Yikes! Less than two months after makeup artist Jaclyn Hill crossed over into pop culture with her makeup tutorial featuring Kim Kardashian, she landed herself in the middle of a huge controversy. The 27-year-old took to her Snapchat to posts funny clips from her night hanging out with fellow beauty vlogger Kathleen Lights — but one particular snap caused a ton of backlash before it was deleted. Now fans are wondering what did Jaclyn post about Kathleen on Snapchat?
The ladies met up yesterday for the first time, according to Kathleen's Instagram. It looks like the girls had a fun night hanging out in Jaclyn's new home — which she shares with her husband Jon Hill. Jaclyn's snaps from her entire story have been deleted, but the snap in question was captured on Twitter.
Kathleen had a virtual reality headset on as she played a video game, aiming the controller at the TV. "C'mon, n—- jump off that table," she said, which seems like she was talking to a character in the game. Jaclyn could be heard giggling in the background. In the final seconds of the clip, Kathleen's husband clearly told Jaclyn, "Don't post that, you can't post that."
Shortly after the snap was shared, Kathleen took to Instagram to issue a statement apologizing for using the N-word. “To all of my disappointed followers,” she wrote. “Last night while I was drunk, unfortunately I accidentally said the N-word while playing a video game on Jaclyn’s Snapchat. I want everyone to know that it was truly a mistake and I NEVER EVER [sic] speak like that. Although it didn’t come from a place of hate or racism, I know I have no right to say n—-.”

Kathleen's fans accused Jaclyn of being "shady" because it seems like she posted the snap on purpose to somehow hurt Kathleen, and Jaclyn took to Twitter to release her own statement to clear her name. “Although Kathleen [and] her husband both know that it was 100 percent an accident [and] I never had bad intentions, it still makes me look like a terrible person to the rest of the world [and] I’m devastated by that,” she wrote. “I would never invite someone into my home and then ‘expose’ them!"
